About

Rona Edwards is a graduate of California Institute of the Arts and an accomplished film and television producer, writer, educator, and consultant. She began her career as Vice President of Creative Affairs for industry giants like John Larroquette, Michael Phillips, and Fern Field before moving into independent producing. Her credits include TV movies such as One Special Victory (NBC), The Companion (SyFy), I Know What You Did (ABC), Out of Sync (VH1), and Lifetime’s Blind Trust and the Crimes of Fashion series. She’s developed and set up numerous projects across major networks and studios including ABC, CBS, HBO, Warner Bros., and Lifetime. Rona is also producing animated projects with Toonz Media and developing several scripted and documentary projects, including a docuseries on military nurses and the PBS-aired Unforgettable. Her documentary Selling Sex In Heaven won several awards and aired on CBC.

A passionate educator, Edwards has taught film and TV development for over two decades at institutions such as UCLA Extension, Chapman University’s Dodge College, AMDA, University of Miami, and Columbia College Chicago. She has also consulted globally for production companies and film commissions in Australia and Singapore.

Rona co-authored two widely-used textbooks: I Liked It, Didn’t Love It and The Complete Filmmaker’s Guide to Film Festivals, and is a regular contributor to Produced By, Script magazine, and other industry publications. She is also a member of the Producers Guild of America, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, SAG-AFTRA, Actors’ Equity, Film Independent, and the International Documentary Association.
